Brevard, Cashiers, Highlands, Sapphire Valley, Glenville Areas

West Fork of Tuckaseegee River (private) - Small tumbling stream with Browns and Rainbows. Use 3, 4 and 5 weight, 7-1/2ft. to 9ft. rods. Lots of pocket water and site fishing. Dry Flies Rule! Trips are available that allow very easy access or areas that are mildly difficult.

Horsepasture River (private) - Small mountain stream. Use 2, 3 and 4 weight 8 ft. rods. This is a typical North Carolina trout stream. It has tight canopy in places and requires good, accurate casting with delicate presentation. Rainbow and Browns and an occasional Brook are available with lots of site fishing.

Lakes/Ponds (private) - High altitude ponds and lakes give opportunity to catch Southern Appalachian Native Brook Trout. These rare fish are a very special treat. Trophy Browns and Rainbows can also be found.

Float Trips - Drift boat fish the French Broad River for Small Mouth Bass and Muskies. Numerous other rivers provide fishing for Trout as well as Small Mouth Bass.

Cherokee, Bryson City, Franklin Areas

Upper Nantahala River (private) - This is a large river with many deep pools to walk and wade with undisturbed trophy trout lurking below. The high canopy allows for longer casts and the size of the river requires 3 to 6 weight rods 8-9ft. long.

Lower Nantahala River (private access) - A very large tailrace river with private access to public water. Use 6 and 7 weight rods. This river is known for its whitewater rafting. Walk, wade or drift boat fish during both high and low water times.

Ponds/Lakes (private) - Several small to medium size ponds have trophy Browns and Rainbows.

Float Trips - You can drift boat fish for Trout, Muskies, Walleye and Small Mouth Bass all on the same trip! Float the Nantahala River with its class 3 rapids or the Tuckaseegee with its mild riffles. Both are Western size Rivers.

Asheville, Lake Lure Areas

Broad River Lodge
Broad River (private) - This mid-size stream has deep pools, long still runs and large waterfalls. Use 3 - 6 weight rods 7-1/2 to 9ft long. Browns and Rainbows - up to 10 lbs. - can be caught. Lots of site fishing. Walking and wading is easy. Stay in the lodge or a near by Bed & Breakfast for a fun, relaxing time.

Ponds/Lakes (private) - Fish three ponds for Trophy Trout or Bream.

Float Trips - Float the French Broad River, the Tuckaseegee or the Little Tennessee for Trout, Small Mouth Bass or Muskies.
